여성으로서 헤비메탈계에 독보적인 위치를 차지하며 기타리스트이자 싱어로서 그역량을 과시했던 Lita ford는 Joan jett를 배출해내기도했던 여성밴드Runaways출신이다

Runaways해산후 자신의 밴드를 조직한 그녀는 1983년 Mercury레이블에서 데뷔앨범 Out for Blood를 내놓으며 Rock계에등장한다

이후 Ozzy osbourne과의 듀엣곡 If i close my eyes forever가 빌보드차트에서 좋은성적을 거두었고 그해최고

 여성Rock보컬리스트 후보에 오르기도했으며 자신의 밴드에서 Randy castillo , Eric carr와같은 걸출한 뮤지션들을

 배출해내기도 하였다

또한 그녀는 앨범제작을 도와준 Tony iommi, Chris Holmes와의 연애스캔들로 호사가들의 관심을 사기도했다
Lita ford는 그간 기타리스트와 보컬리스트 1인2역을 열심히 해왔다 거기에타고난 미모로 인해 스캔들이 끊이지않았다

 

그녀의 음악은 Rock`n`roll 이큰비중을 차지한다 또 여러대중들을 겨냥한 발라드곡들도 있으나 그녀의 진정한 가치는

 쉴새없이 몸을흔들수있는 Rock`n`roll  Bit에실어 연주하는 Rocker로서의 모습에있다

 

그녀자신은 기타리스트로서 인정받길 원했지만 기타플레이어로서의 Lita는 손목힘이약해 Banding이나 Vibrato등의

 기본적이며 아주중요한쪽이 문제를일으켜 기타솔로연주시에 불안하단 지적이 나오곤했다

 

그럼에도 Lita의곡들은  실제적인 경험에서 나오는 다분히 체험적인곡들이 많았다

이러한 Hard Rock`n`roll은 테크닉으론 결코해결할수없는부분인데 이때문에 그녀는 오늘날까지도 훌륭한 여성Rocker로 기억되는것이다
