1980년대 중반부터 1990년대 초반까지 엄청난 인기를 끌었던 Poison.

1981년 Paris라는 이름으로 활동한 브렛 마이클스(Bret Michaels, 리드 보컬)와 리키 로켓(Rikki Rockett, 드러머), 바비 달(Bobby Dall, 베이시스트), 맷 스미스.

이후 맷 스미스가 빠진 자리에 씨.씨 데빌(C.C.DeVille, 기타리스트)이 들어오면서 Poison의 역사가 시작된다.

나중에 멤버들의 불화설과 함께 결국 라인업은 변경되게 된다.

 

1980년 후반에서 1990년 초반, 한참 인기였던 Guns 'n' Roses와 함께 이쁘장한 외모로 눈길을 끌었다.

초반만 해도 얼굴값이라 폄하되던 이들의 음악.

미국 투어를 하며 점차 실력을 늘려가던 이들은 1990년에 발매한 3집 "Fresh & Blood"를 통해 인기와 함께 음악성도 인정받게 된다.

이 곡은 보컬 브렛 마이클스가 자신의 경호원이자 친구였던  James Kimo Maano의 죽음을 기린 노래이다.
