Gotta dance 춤을 춰봐. 춤을 추는거야 If you're blue and you don't know where to go to why don't you go where fashion sits, Puttin' on the Ritz 우울하고 마땅히 갈 곳이 없다면 유행의 거리로 가보지 그래 사치스러운 차림을 하고 말야 Puttin' on The Ritz라는 단 한곡의 빅히트곡으로 1983년도 팝스계를 휩쓸었던 Taco는 독일이 낳은 뉴웨이브 아티스트이다.   Nena, Tangerine Dream 등의 뒤를 이어 독일록의 명예를 걸고 전세계 팝계에 데뷔한 그는 일찍부터 가꾸어 온 풍부한 성향을 유감없이 발휘하면서 뉴웨이브의 장점을 그대로 펼쳐 보였다.   타코가 태그가 자신의 밴드 Taco's Bizz를 이끌고 함부르크 클럽가에 나타난 것은 1980년이었으며 After Eight이란 타이틀로   발매된 데뷔 앨범에는 Cheek To Cheek, Singin' In The Rain, Puttin' on The Ritz 등 주로 클래시컬한 명곡을 리바이벌시킨 것이 주를 이루었다. 반응은 실로 대단했는데 급기야 RCA 레코드사를 통해   1983년에 전세계 시장에 발매되기에 이르렀고 특히 흐르는 곡인 Puttin' on The Ritz의 인기는 폭발적이었다.   Irving Berlin의 오리지널인 이 곡은 타코의 목소리를 30년대의 스타일로 담고, 그 위에 뉴웨이브 스타일과 신서사이저 사운드로 더빙시켜 효과를 극대화시켰다
