Tommy Castro

타미 카스트로는 슬라이드 기타에 강한 면모를 보이는 연주자로 블루스록에서 소울 블루스, 컨템포러리 블루스 등에

이르는 다양한 연주세계를 보여주는 인물이다. 1955년 캘리포니아의 산 호세에서 태어난 그는 10살 때부터 기타를

연주하기 시작했으며 마이크 불룸필드, 알 쿠퍼, 에릭 클랩튼, 엘빈 비숍 등으로부터 영향을 받아 자신의 세계를 정립해 갔다.

이후에는 버디 가이, 엘모어 제임스, 머디 워터스, 프레디 킹 등을 자신의 영웅으로 삼았고 레이 찰스의 보컬풍에

 감동 받아 노래를 할 때에 그런 스타일을 자신의 것으로 소화했다.

93년에 그는 ‘Saloon' 레이블에서 자신이 직접 프로듀스한 솔로 앨범 [No Foolin']을 공개했으며 동년 말엽에는

 그가 이끄는 밴드가 샌프란시스코 베이 에이리어 클럽밴드 부문 최우수 클럽밴드로 선정되기도 했다.
1997년에는 앨범 [Exception For The Rule]로 최우수 블루스앨범 및 주목할만한 블루스 뮤지션 등에 뽑히기도 했다
