니힐한 창법을 듣고 있노라면 야누스적 심성에 칼질을 하는 느낌이다.

블라인드 윌리 멕텔(lind Willie Mc tell)은 전설적인 블루스 맹인 뮤지션이다.
그런데 이 곡은 ( 이에 대한 의견은 분분하지만 ) 블라인드 윌리 멕텔을 위해 만든 곡인지..
아니면 가사 내용처럼 수치스러운 미국 남부의 노예제도를 꼬집기 위한 건지..
여튼.. 그게 뭐가 중요한가.. 어쩌면 밥 딜런 최고의 곡이라해도 좋을 말이 필요없는 곡이다.

밥 딜런이 전설적인 맹인 부르스 뮤지션 [Blind Willie Mc tell(1901~1959)]을 위해 만들었던
곡을 스캇 홀트(Scot Holt)가 자신의 특유의 블루지한 창법으로 리메이크했는데..
밥 딜런과는 또 다른 니힐리즘의 매력을 강열하게 느끼게 한다.

 

그의 노래를 듣고 있노라면 가을날 빈 들판의 수수깡을 스처지나가는 허허로운 바람소리같은

내 상처 투성이의 빈 마음을 어루만져 주는 느낌이다.
