이 캐럴 송은 소박한 가사와 아름다운 멜로디가 하느님의 축복을 바라는 따뜻한 마음을 잘 나타내고 있으며

그다지 넓지 않은 음역(音域)이라 누구나 쉽게 따라 부를 수 있어 오랜 생명을 이어오는 듯하다.

 'White Christmas'는 1942년에 제작된 미국 뮤지컬 영화 'Holiday Inn'의 주제가로 작곡되어

빙 크로스비(Bing Crosby)와 마저리 레이놀즈(Marjorie Reynolds)가 함께 부른 유명한 영화음악이다.

영화 속에서는 마저리 레이놀즈가 노래를 하지만 사실은 가수 마르타 미어즈(Martha Mears)의 목소리다.

 마르타 미어즈는 뛰어난 가창력으로 리타 헤이워드(Rita Hayworth), 클로데트 콜베르(Claudette Colbert),
