[Euro-Pop]이다.

 

왁스가 [Money(머니)]란 곡으로 리메이크하여
크게 인기를 얻은곡이기도 하다.

 

이 그룹의 멤버였던  1962년생 [Sandra Lauer]는
그룹 [Enigma(이니그마)]의 리더인 [Michael Cretu(미카엘 크레두)]와
1988년에 결혼했다.

 

 [Sandra Lauer]는 현재 솔로로도 꾸준히
활동하지만 [Enigma]의 멤버이기도 하다.

 

 

 

 

아라베스크의 최고의 히트곡 'Hello Mr Monkey'!

  아라베스크(arabesque)는 70년대 후반~80년대 초에 우리나라와 특히 아시아에서 큰 인기를 끌던

  독일 출신의 3인조 여성댄스그룹이다.

 

아라베스크는 당시 크게 유행하던 디스코&댄스 음악의 흐름을 타고 여러 댄스곡들을 발표해서 많은 히트곡들을 냈다.

  'Hello Mr Monkey'는 아라베스크가 78년에 발표한 아라베스크의 대표곡이자 최고의 히트곡이며

  국내와 일본에서 특히 큰 인기를 모았던 곡이다.

 

  80년대초에 디스코를 중심으로 댄스곡들이 세계적으로 크게 유행하였는데 ‘둘리스’ ‘징기스칸’ ‘놀란스’

  등 그룹들과 함께 활발하게 활동했던 아라베스크는 이외에도 ‘Friday Night,’ ‘Someone Is Waiting

   for You, Friday Night’ 등의 히트곡들이 있다.

 

  아라베스크 멤버로는 자스민 엘리자베스 베터, 마카렐라 로즈, 산드라 라우어가 있는데 이중에서

  산드라가 메인보컬을 맡았으며 인기가 제일 좋았다.
