Steve Forbert는 1955년도에 미국 미시시피주에서 태어났다 
11살에 기타를 처음 배워서 학창 시절에는 밴드 생활을 했었고 트럭 운전사 경력도 가지고 있는 Steve Forbert가  1978년 데뷔작을 내고 처음 등장했을 때에는 'New Dylan'이란 별명을 얻을 정도로 포크락계에 신선한 바람을 일으켰다.

 

포크 음악이 사람들의 뇌리에서 시들해져갈 무렵인 1970년대 후반에 용감하게도 통기타 하나를 들고 뉴욕으로 찾아온 그는 포크와 컨트리, 초기 락큰롤을 섞은 음악으로 세상에 그의 이름을 알리며, 'Romeo's tune' ,

 

'I'm in love with you''Sadly sorta like a soap opera' 등의 힛트곡을 남겼다 .

 

 

 

 

 

 

스티브 포버트는 1955년 미시시피주 태생, 가수이자, 싱어송 라이터이며그가 구사하는 장르는 컨템포러리 포크와

컨트리, 기타와 하모니카를 다룰줄 안다고 한다.       

11살때 기타를 배우기 시작했고, 이후 고등학교 시절엔 많은 밴드 생활을 했다고 한다.

그 후,'Nemperor'社와 계약을 맺고  '78년 데뷰하여 'Alive on Arrival'앨범을 내놓게 된다.
이듬해에 발표한 'Jackrabbit Slim'에서는 'Romeo's Tune'이 빌보드 차트에서 히트를 쳐 그의 이름을 널리 

알리게 되는 계기가 되었다고 한다.

하지만 이것도 잠시, 'Cellophane City'가 수록되어 있는 '80년도작 'Little Stevie Orbit'과 셀프타이틀 앨범인

 'Steve Forbert'는인기몰이에 실패를 했다고 한다.
